China
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Site in Chinese only. [Some English] The China National Nuclear Corporation is a state-owned conglomerate with sole proprietorship established upon approval of the State Council in July 1, 1999. The CNNC grew out of the former China National Nuclear Corporation (the successor of the former Ministry of Nuclear Industry whose predecessor was the former Second Ministry of Machine-Building Industry).
China Nuclear Energy Industry Corp. (CNEIC) [English] CNEIC was established in early 1980, authorized by the state to be specialized in export and import of uranium products, techniques of nuclear fuel cycle, nuclear power techniques and equipment as well as other general goods. In the communication of international trade, the corporation is celebrated for its honoring of commitments and performance of obligations. CNEIC has been active in major projects known to nuclear sectors both at home and abroad, including supply of nuclear fuels to support the operation of NPPs in Europe, America and Japan; import of key equipment for the Qinshan NPP Phase-I and II Projects--the first NPP project in the mainland; acting as an agent of foreign trade in turnkey engineering for importing HWR NPP from Canada and Tiawan NPP from Russia; transfer of technology and supply of fuel assemblies for the export of the first NPP from China; export of heavy water for NPP in Korea; and supply of research reactors to developing countries under the IAEA Technical Assistance Program, etc.
France
AREVA Originated by the merger of all CEA-Industrie, COGEMA, FRAMATOME ANP and FCI operations, the AREVA group supplies solutions for power generation. In the nuclear sector, AREVA provides services for every aspect of power generation from uranium mining to decommissioning.
Germany
Urenco Deutschland GmbH The Urenco Group provides a high quality, cost effective, and reliable uranium enrichment service to nuclear power utilities worldwide. Urenco's plants employ the gas-centrifuge process. The process is clean, safe, and energy efficient. Urenco Deutschland (UD), located in Gronau, is the site of Urenco’s uranium enrichment plant in Germany. It is located close to the Dutch/German border in North-Rhine-Westphalia, some 40 kilometers from Urenco's Dutch enrichment plant. Here uranium is enriched in centrifuge cascades to the U235 assays required by nuclear power plants.
Japan
Japan Nuclear Cycle Development Institute (JNC) Site in Japanese only. [Some English] JNC was formed in-October 1998; its mission is to perform the development of the advanced technology required to establish the complete nuclear fuel cycle. Key projects include: the fast breeder reactor (FBR), advanced reprocessing, plutonium fuel fabrication, and the disposal of high-level radioactive waste.
Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited (JNFL) [English] JNFL either operates or is constructing fuel cycle plants including uranium enrichment, low-level radioactive waste disposal center, high-level radioactive waste storage center, and a reprocessing plan.
Netherlands
Urenco Nederland The Urenco Group provides a high quality, cost effective, and reliable uranium enrichment service to nuclear power utilities worldwide. Urenco's plants employ the gas-centrifuge process. The process is clean, safe, and energy efficient. Urenco’s site in the Netherlands is located in Almelo, a town in the East of the country. As with all URENCO’s sites the operational process utilizes state-of-the art technology, based on the centrifuge method: the most clean and energy-efficient way to enrich uranium. ISO 27001:2005 certification for Information Security was achieved at Almelo.
