Argentina
Nucleoeléctrica Argentina Sociedad Anónima (NASA) Site in Spanish only. NASA was set up in 1994 to take over the nuclear power plants from CNEA and oversee construction of Atucha 2.
Belgium
Electrabel S.A./N.V. Belgium has two sites with nuclear power stations: Doel and Tihange. The first units there were commissioned in 1975. Between 1975 and 1985, their number was increased to four units at Doel and three at Tihange. Electrabel also participated in the power station of EDF in Chooz, just across the French border.
Tractebel Engineering Tractebel Engineering is a Belgium based, international company providing worldwide life-cycle consultancy and engineering in power, nuclear, gas, industry, and infrastructure for the GDF SUEZ Group – within GDF SUEZ Energy Services – as well as for national and international institutions and customers in public or private markets.
Brazil
Eletrobrás Site in Portuguese only. [Some English] Eletrobras is a state-owned company that is part of the Sector of Electric Energy of Brazil.
Eletronuclear [English] Eletrobrás Termonuclear S/A – Eletronuclear was established in 1997 for the purpose of operating and building thermal nuclear power plants in Brazil. As of 2011, nuclear power plants Angra 1 – with a generating capacity of 657 electric megawatts, and Angra 2 – rated at 1350 electric megawatts are in operation. Angra 3, to practically be a replica of Angra 2, (incorporating the technological advances made since the construction of the latter) is also planned to generate 1350 megawatts.
Bulgaria
Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania J.S.C. (NEK) [English] NEK owns and operates the Kozloduy nuclear power plant. The total installed capacity of the six Units at Kozloduy is 3,760 MW. The first four Units are VVER-440 and Units 5 and 6 are VVER-1000.
Canada
Bruce Power Bruce Power is a partnership among Cameco Corporation, TransCanada Corporation, Borealis Infrastructure (a trust established by the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System), The Power Workers’ Union, and The Society of Energy Professionals. Bruce Power’s 2,300-acre site on the shores of Lake Huron houses the Bruce A and B generating stations, which each hold four CANDU reactors. Six of those units are currently operational and produce more than 4,700 megawatts.
CANDU Owners Group Inc. (COG) The CANDU Owners Group Inc. (COG) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing programs for cooperation, mutual assistance and exchange of information for the successful support, development, operation, maintenance and economics of CANDU technology.
Hydro-Québec [English] Hydro-Québec, located in Québec, Canada, owns and operates the Gentilly-2 Nuclear Generating Station.
New Brunswick Power (NP Power) NB Power operates the Point Lepreau Generating Station, a CANDU-6, with a net capacity of 635 MW. The station supplies up to 30% of NB Power's generation at a low cost and with a minimum impact on the environment.

China Light & Power Company, Ltd. Originally incorporated in Hong Kong in 1901 as China Light & Power Syndicate, CLP Holdings is now among the most widely-held and actively-traded stocks listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. With core business in Hong Kong, the Group, through its subsidiaries, also develops and operates power business in Mainland China and several other Asian countries. Through its subsidiary Hong Kong Nuclear Investment Co. Ltd., CLP owns 25% of the Guangdong Nuclear Power Station and is contracted to buy 70% of the annual output of the nuclear plant at Daya Bay.
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Site in Chinese only. [Some English] The China National Nuclear Corporation is a state-owned conglomerate with sole proprietorship established upon approval of the State Council in July 1, 1999. The CNNC grew out of the former China National Nuclear Corporation (the successor of the former Ministry of Nuclear Industry whose predecessor was the former Second Ministry of Machine-Building Industry).
Hong Kong Nuclear Investment Co. Ltd. (HKNIC) HKNIC is an investor in the Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Company Limited (GNPJVC), which owns and operates the Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station (GNPS) at Daya Bay, Guangdong Province in China. HKNIC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CLP Holdings.
Czech Republic
Czech Power Company CEZ, a.s. (CEZ) [English] The joint-stock company CEZ is a Czech electricity company. It was founded on May 6, 1992, by the National Property fund of the Czech Republic as one of the new entities formed after the breakup of the former state-owned Czech Power Works. CEZ operates the Dukovany NPP and is constructing the Temelin NPP.
Finland
Fortum [English] Fortum is one of the Nordic countries´ leading energy companies. Fortum received power from the Loviisa Power Plant.
Teollisuuden Voima Oy (TVO) Site in Finnish only. [Some English] Teollisuuden Voima Oy (TVO) is a private electric power company owned by Finnish industry and other power companies that supplies electricity to its shareholders at cost price. Olkiluoto 1 began electricity generation in 1978 and Olkiluoto 2 in 1980.
France
Electricité de France (EDF) [English] The EDF Group has a full array of industrial facilities ranging from power plants (hydro, fossil-fired and nuclear power, new energies) to distribution systems, including research and development facilities. EDF has 58 nuclear power units in operation or nearing completion, covering more than three-quarters of France's electrical energy needs.

Hungary
Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. Site in Hungarian only. [Some English] The Paks Nuclear Power Plant Company was founded in 1976 and has been operating as a share company since 1992. Its site, where four VVER-440/213 type units are operating with a total nominal power of 1860 MW (electrical), is located in the middle of Hungary, five kilometers from the town of Paks. More than 40% of the electrical energy generated in Hungary is produced here.
India
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited is a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The Company was registered with the objective of operating the atomic power stations and implementing the atomic power projects for generation of electricity in pursuance of the schemes and programs of the government of India.
Japan
Chubu Electric Power Company (Chubu EPCo) [English] Established in 1951, Chubu EPCo supplies electricity to five prefectures in the Chubu region at the center of Japan. It is the third largest electric company in Japan, supplying 13% of the country's total population. Chubu EPCo owns and operates Hamoaka Generating Station, Unit 1 (515 MWe BWR), Unit 2 (806 MWe BWR), Unit 3 (1,056 MWe BWR), Unit 4 (1,092 MWe BWR) and is constructing Unit 5 (1,325 MWe BWR).
Chugoku Electric Power Company [English] The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc., was established in 1951 as one of ten electric power companies in Japan. It supplies electricity to the Chugoku region of western Japan through an integrated structure that encompasses all stages of power supply, from generation through transmission and distribution. Chugoku operates the Shimane Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2.
Federation of Electric Power Companies (FEPC) [English] The FEPC represents Japan's ten electric power companies and was created to promote smooth operations within the industry. The FEPC has played an important role as a base for communication between the power companies and as a forum for exchanging ideas on the evolution of the environment in the electricity industry.
Hokkaido Electric Power Company [English] Supplies electricity to more than three million customers throughout Hokkaido, the northernmost of the main islands in the Japanese archipelago. Hokkaido Electric Power Co. operates Tomari Units 1 (579 MWe PWR), 2 (579 MWe PWR), 3 (912 MWe PWR).
Hokuriku Electric Power Company [English] Hokuriku Electric Power Company, established on May 1, 1951, supplies electricity through integrated power generation, transmission and distribution systems as one of the ten licensed electric utilities in Japan. Hokuriku operates Shika Unit 1, a 505 MW plant that began operation in 1993.
J-Power (JPOWER) [English] Serves the electric power companies of Japan as a wholesale electric utility.
Japan Atomic Power Company (JAPC) [English] JAPC operates the Tokai II (1,100 MWe BWR), Tsuruga 1 (357 MWe BWR), and Tsuruga 2 (1,160 MWe BWR) nuclear reactors.
Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO) [English] Kansai operates the Mihama (Units 1-3), Ohi (Units 1-4), and Takahama (Units 1-4) nuclear power plants, all of which are PWRs.
Kyushu Electric Power Company [English] Kyushu operates the Genkai Nuclear Generating Station (Units 1-4).
Shikoku Electric Power Company [English] Shikoku operates the Ikata nuclear power plant (Units 1-3).
Tohoku Electric Power Company [English] Tohoku operates Higashidori 1 (1,067 MWe BWR), Onagawa 1 (498 MWe BWR), Onagawa 2 (796 MWe BWR), and Onagawa 2 (796 MWe BWR).
Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) [English] The Tokyo Electric Power Company, Incorporated (TEPCO) is an electric utility servicing Japan's Kanto region, Yamanashi Prefecture, and the eastern portion of Shizuoka Prefecture. This area includes Tokyo. I ts headquarters are located in Uchisaiwaicho, Chiyoda, Tokyo, and international branch offices exist in Washington, D.C., and London. TEPCO operates the Fukushima Daiichi (Units 1-6), Fuhushima Daini (Units 1-4) and Kashiwazaki Kariwa (Units 1-7) nuclear power plants.
Korea, South
Korea Electric Power Company (KEPCO) [English] Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is the largest electric utility in South Korea, responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity and the development of electric power projects including those in nuclear power, wind power and coal. KEPCO is responsible for 93% of Korea's electricity generation. The Korean government owns a 51% share of KEPCO. Together with its affiliates and subsidiaries, KEPCO has an installed capacity of 65,383 MW as of 2011.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) [English] KHNP, inaugurated in 2001, is fully invested by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and supplies more than 40% of Korea’s electric power. KHNP is the largest among the six power generating subsidiaries that separated from KEPCO n April 2001, accounting for approximately 25% of electricity producing facilities, hydro, and nuclear combined.
Lithuania
Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant [English] The Ignalina nuclear power plant contains two RBMK-1500 water-cooled graphite-moderated channel-type power reactors. The RBMK-1500 reactor is the largest power reactor in the world. The thermal power output of one unit is 4800 MW, the electrical power capacity is 1500 MW. This site is one of the better reactor specific information sites.
Mexico
Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) Site in Spanish only. CFE generates, transmits, distributes and commercializes electrical energy for 18,68 million clients, which represents almost 80 million of Mexican. CFE operates Laguna Verde Units 1 and 2.
Netherlands
EPZ () Site in Dutch only. EPZ owns and operates the Brossele nuclear power plant, a 452 MWe PWR.
Pakistan
Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) PAEC is charged with the promotion of, and research work on the peaceful uses of atomic energy in the fields of agriculture, medicine and industry, as well as the execution of development projects involving nuclear power stations and the generation of electric power, and to perform such other functions relating to the peaceful uses of atomic energy as may be agreed to between the Commission and the government.
Romania
Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant Site in Romanian only. Operated by Centrala Nuclearo-Electrica (CNE) the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant has one operating 655 MWe CANDU unit with four other 620 MWe units planned. Unit 2 is under construction.
Nuclearelectrica SA [English] SNN SA's mission is to generate electricity and thermal power using nuclear technology, to develop nuclear power and to manufacture nuclear fuel, ensuring high safety, economic efficiency and taking care of people and environment.
Russia
JSC Irkutskenergo [English] Founded in 1992, JSC Irkutskenergo (Irkutsk Power Generation and Distribution COmpany) is owned for its 40% by the Russian government. Its power generation base comprises various hydro and thermal power plants.
Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant Site in Russian only. The Leningrad nuclear power plant is located 80 kilometers to the west of St. Petersburg, on the Southern coast of the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea. The site houses four 1000 MWe RBMK units.
Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation Site in Russian only. [Some English] Rosatom Nuclear Energy State Corporation (Rosatom), is a State Corporation in Russia and the regulatory body of the Russian nuclear complex
Rosenergoatom Concern [English] Rosenergoatom Concern is an operating organization of existing NPPs, NPPs under construction, and NPPs led out of operation.
WANO Moscow Regional Center Site in Russian only. The Moscow Regional Center of the the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), which unites all nuclear electricity operators in the world. WANO facilitates the exchange of operating experience, so that its members can work together to achieve the highest possible standards of safety and reliability in operating their nuclear power plants.
Slovenia
Krsko Nuclear Power Plant (NEK) Site in Slovenian only. [Some English] The Krško Nuclear Power Plant is located in Krško, Slovenia. The plant was connected to the power grid in 1981 and went into commercial operation in 1983. It was built as a joint venture by Slovenia and Croatia which were at the time both part of Yugoslavia. The plant is a 2-loop Westinghouse pressurized water reactor, with a rated thermal capacity 696 megawatts-electric MWe.
South Africa
Eskom Eskom is governed by the Electricity Council and a Management Board, established in terms of the Eskom Act of 1987. Eskom operates the Koeberg nuclear power station Units 1 and 2, located near Cape Town South Africa.
Spain
Centrales Nucleares Almaraz Trillo, AIE (CNAT) Site in Spanish only. [Some English] Centrales Nucleares Almaraz Trillo, AIE is a joint management of facilities allowing for commercial operation under the best competitive market conditions. Operations include the Almaraz and Trillo Nuclear Power Plants.
Endesa [English] Endesa is in the business of generating, transporting, and distributing electricity through a large number of companies in Spain, Latin America, Europe, and Africa, with a total of 36,538 MW installed, 148,619 GWh produced and 148,540 GWh distributed to 22 million customers. This includes 3,518 MW of nuclear power installed in Spain.
ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas, S.A. (ENUSA) [English] ENUSA is engaged in activities related to the first part of the nuclear fuel cycle. These consist fundamentally of: management of enriched uranium supplies for Spanish nuclear power plants; production of uranium concentrates – a residual production activity complementary to the closing-down works of its Mining Centre at Saelices-Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca); manufacturing of PWR and BWR fuel elements, as well as the engineering associated to this activity, and other services related to nuclear power stations. At present, ENUSA has direct supply contracts with the nuclear power stations of Almaraz I and II, Ascó I and II, Vandellós II and José Cabrera (Zorita).
Iberdrola S.A. [English] With assets of over Pta2.6tr, over 8 million customers in Spain and almost 5 million in Latin America, we are one of Europe's leading electricity Companies. Iderdrola owns all or portions of the Cofrentes, Almaraz 1 and 2, Trillo 1, Vandellos 2, Asco 2I, and Santa Maria de Garona nuclear power units.
Unión Fenosa Group (UEF) Site in Spanish only. [Some English] Unión Fenosa, S.A., is a large Spanish company dedicated to the production and distribution to end users of gas and electricity. It has installed capacity of 11,120 megawatts of power and 8.9 million customers. The headquarters are in Madrid and the chairman is Pedro López Jiménez. Formerly a constituent of the IBEX 35 index, the company is a part of the Gas Natural group. Union Fenosa owns all or portions of the Jose Cabrera, Almaraz 1 and 2, and Trillo 1 nuclear power units.
Sweden
E.ON Sverige Site in Swedish only. [Some English] E.ON Sverige AB, formerly known as Sydkraft, is Sweden's second largest utility company.
OKG Aktiebolag Site in Swedish only. [Some English] OKG owns Oskarshamn Units 1-3, which together account for more than 10% of the total electricity generated in Sweden. OKG is also responsible for operating CLAB, the interim storage facility for spent nuclear fuel from all the nuclear power plants in Sweden.
Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company (SKB) [English] Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB (SKB) was formed jointly by the four Swedish utilities: Vattenfall AB, Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB, OKG, and Aktiebolag. SKB is responsible for dealing with the management and disposal of radioactive waste generated from these facilities.
Vattenfall AB Site in Swedish only. [Some English] Vattenfall supplies energy to millions of business and household customers across Europe and the Nordic region. They offer a broad range of products and services, spanning gas, electricity, electricity net and grid operations, heating, entrepreneurial services, consulting, administrative support, telephony and IT services. Vattenfall operates the Barsbäck, Forsmark Units 1-3, and Ringhals Units 1-4 nuclear power stations. Vattenfall also has partial ownership in the Brokdorf, Brunsbüttel, Krümmel, and Stade nuclear power plants located in Germany.
Switzerland
BKW FMB Energie AG Site in German and French only. [Some English] BKW FMB owns and operates the Mühleberg nuclear power station.
Gösgen Nuclear Power Station (KKG) Site in German and French only. The Gösgen nuclear power station is a 970 MWe PWR.
Leibstadt Nuclear Power Station (KKL) Site in German and French only. The Lebstadt nuclear power station is a 1,145 MWe BWR.
Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke (NOK) Site in German only. [Some English] The Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke (NOK) is a joint stock company of the cantons of Northeast Switzerland. NOK owns and operates the Beznau Nuclear Power Plant.
Verband Schweizerischer Elektrizitätsunternehmen (VSE) Site in German, French, and Italian only. The VSE is the federation of the Swiss electricity enterprises. It was created 1895 and includes approximately 460 member enterprises.
Taiwan
Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) [English] The Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) is a state-owned electric power utility providing electric power to Taiwan and off-shore islands of Republic of China.
Turkey
Turkish Electricity Transmission Co. (TEIAS) Site in Turkish only. [Some English] As a first step toward a competitive market, the new electricity market law of 2001 re-organized state owned utility-TEAS into three successor companies, including the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS).
Ukraine
Energorisk, Ltd. [English] Energorisk, Ltd. is a Ukrainian private engineering company, providing services on nuclear power plant safety analysis, risk assessment, operation support and design works, and associated technical review activities. It was created in 1992 and became one of the first companies in Ukraine that obtained a license for safety-related engineering works for nuclear facilities.
Ministry of Fuel and Energy Site in Russian only. Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine is the successor of the Ministry of coal industry of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the State Department of power industry of Ukraine, the State Department of petroleum, gas, oil-refining industries of Ukraine and the State Department of nuclear power of Ukraine.
NNEGC Energoatom [English] The National Nuclear Energy Generating Company (NNEGC) ENERGOATOM was established in 1996 following the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and comprises all five nuclear power plants of Ukraine. ENERGOATOM operates Khmelnitsky 1, Rivne (1-3), South-Ukraine (1- 3) and Zaporizhzhya (1-6) nuclear power plants.
United Kingdom
British Energy (BE) BE is the UK’s biggest producer of electricity and together provides power to a quarter of the country’s population. With a current installed capacity of around 16.5GW, it supplies gas and electricity to over 5.5 million business and residential customers from our nuclear, coal and gas power stations, as well as combined heat and power plants and wind farms. British Energy delisted from the London Stock Exchange in 2009 and is now part of EDF Energy. The combination of EDF Energy and British Energy forms one of the UK’s largest energy companies.
World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) The World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) unites all nuclear electricity operators in the world. It facilitates the exchange of operating experience, so that its members can work together to achieve the highest possible standards of safety and reliability in operating their nuclear power plants.
United States
Alabama Power Alabama Power, a subsidiary of the Southern Company, owns the Joseph M. Farly Nuclear Electric Generating Plant. This plant has two 860 MWe PWRs.
Alliant Energy Alliant Energy once owned portions of the Duane Arnold and Kewaunee nuclear power plants.
Alternate Energy Holdings, Inc. (AEHI) AEHI is an alternate energy and generating company focused on the purchase, optimization, and construction of green energy sources – primarily nuclear power plants. AEHI announced a Letter of Intent to construct new nuclear plant in Idaho.
AmerenUE Formerly Union Electric, AmerenUE is Missouri's largest electric utility. AmerenUE owns and operates the Callaway Nuclear Power Plant (1,143 MWe).
American Council on Global Nuclear Competitiveness Formed in 2005, the American Council on Global Nuclear Competitiveness is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks the return of American nuclear leadership to the world through the emergence of an U.S.-led global nuclear enterprise. The Council educates key audiences on the policies and technologies of an American nuclear renaissance and summons public and private sector leadership to organize and promote such a transformation.
American Electric Power (AEP) AEP owns and operates the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 located in Bridgman, Missouri. Cook generated its 100-billionth kilowatthour in 1984, reaching that milestone in less time than any other such plant. Its Unit 1 reached that milestone in 1991.
Arizona Public Service (APS) With headquarters in Phoenix, APS is the largest subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation. APS is an owner and primary operator of the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3.
Baltimore Gas & Electric (BG&E) BG&E is a subsidiarity of Constellation Energy Group and its nuclear units have been transferred to Constellation Nuclear, LLC.
Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (CCNPP) In 2000, CCNPP transferred from BG&E into Constellation Nuclear, a nuclear-focused competitive member of Constellation Energy Group. Calvert Cliffs is a two-unit 825 MWe PWR plant, and its 1,700 megawatts of electricity is marketed nationally by Constellation Power Source, Inc.
Central Maine Power Company (CMPC) CMPC has sold its partial ownership in the Seabrook and Vermont Yankee nuclear units.

Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) ConEd owns and operates Indian Point 2 nuclear power plant located in northern Westchester County, New York.
