Nuclear Power Outlook &
UxC Requirements Model (URM)

Tracking the Nuclear Renaissance

Keeping abreast of the nuclear power industry can seem quite difficult, especially with the impacts of the Fukushima Daiichi accident in Japan still be fully understood. The Ux Consulting Company (UxC) has conducted an extensive review of the current status of nuclear power all over the world and with its Nuclear Power Outlook (NPO) gives you a single source to access the nuclear power industry’s most pertinent information. This multifaceted, up-to-date, and analytical product condenses the entire nuclear power industry into one manageable information and consulting package. The other unique feature to the NPO is the continuity with which the information will be provided to you: daily news headlines and complete and concise quarterly written reports. Finally, if you can not find what you’re looking for in any of the aforementioned places, our nuclear power experts stand ready to support your special consulting requests.

UxC is already an established leading source of consulting and information services in the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle, and, since 2007, the NPO has increased our coverage of the overall nuclear power industry, with an emphasis on forecasting reactors and nuclear capacities around the world. With the NPO, you will be given first-hand access and analysis of every major development in the nuclear power industry in an easy to use package.

Offering Comprehensive Coverage

NPO reports are updated and issued every quarter. Each NPO report provides three highly useful items: 1) an in-depth nuclear power market trends analysis, 2) a summary of all the latest developments in nuclear power by region and country, and 3) updates to our highly versatile data tables and statistical analyses with forecasts for all nuclear reactors (current, under construction, and planned) around the world through 2030. The NPO forecasts include three reactor cases: Base, High, and Low to provide for better comparisons of nuclear power predictions.

In addition, UxC on occasion publishes special NPO update memos. Recent updates have provided in-depth coverage of major nuclear power conferences. Moreover, specialized consulting support on nuclear power topics is offered to all our NPO customers. The NPO reports are designed to answer questions that include:

  • When will new reactors come online?
  • Where and how many reactors will be built?
  • Which companies will be involved?
  • What hurdles need to be overcome & how?
  • What impact will reactor growth have on nuclear fuel demand?

A subscription to the NPO provides you with a number of extensive information sources. Specifically, comprehensive NPO reports will be issued on a quarterly basis and include:

  • In-depth essays and content on important nuclear-related topics, such as:
    • Post-Fukushima impacts on nuclear reactor construction and operations
    • World energy forecasts and nuclear power’s role in fulfilling energy needs
    • Nuclear power economics and financing mechanisms for new nuclear plants
    • The impact of climate change policies on the future of nuclear power
    • China’s role in nuclear power’s future
    • Nuclear power prospects in new regions (e.g. Middle East, Southeast Asia, etc.)
    • Small modular reactor predictions
    • Analysis of “Top Ten Challenges” to nuclear power expansion
    • Exposés of key country nuclear power programs
    • Comparative economic analysis of nuclear plant construction
    • Enabling nuclear expansion in developing nations
    • Technical analysis of the world’s leading reactor technologies
    • International comparison of public opinion on nuclear power
    • The impact of nonproliferation concerns on the growth of nuclear power
  • Concise summaries and accurate analysis of the latest nuclear reactor developments by country and region
  • Updated and expanded global nuclear power forecasts based on latest information
  • Updated data tables reflecting any changes from the previous quarter

Finally, if you do not already subscribe to our industry leading Ux Weekly newsletter, the NPO package also gives you access to our Daily News Headlines, which deliver the day’s nuclear-related news directly to your email inbox every weekday including article descriptions and links.

UxC’s Nuclear Power Outlook (NPO) information package is for anyone with a current or prospective stake in the future of nuclear power. Please see our product flier and either the Q3 2009, Q2 2009 or Q1 2009 table of contents in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

UxC Requirements Model Report Option

Using the NPO reactor forecast assumptions, UxC has also developed a sophisticated global nuclear fuel cycle requirements model (UxC Requirements Model or URM). The URM provides detailed forecasts for requirements of uranium (U3O8), conversion (UF6), enrichment (SWU), and fuel fabrication for each country in the world based on the three NPO reactor forecast cases. Starting with Q1 2010, we are pleased to announce the availability of our quarterly URM Report, which is available as a compendium product to the NPO. The URM product offering includes a comprehensive quarterly report as well as accompany ing MS Excel spreadsheets. Since all the assumptions in the URM requirements forecasts are detailed in the NPO, the URM Report can only be purchased together with the NPO.

The combined UxC information package of the NPO plus URM reports provides the world’s most comprehensive, up-to-date, and detailed review and analysis of current and future nuclear power and fuel requirements prospects.
