Jonathan Hinze is President of UxC, LLC (UxC). He has been at UxC since 2006, during which time he has helped to expand the company’s products and consulting work in numerous ways. Mr. Hinze has over two decades of direct experience in the nuclear industry, and therefore has an extensive wealth of knowledge on the nuclear fuel cycle and reactor markets. One of his main areas of focus over the years has been nuclear reactor developments and global nuclear power forecasting as well as analyzing the future of the nuclear fuel markets and the reactor supply chain. His areas of expertise include an in-depth knowledge of the international nuclear marketplace, nuclear technologies, government policies, nonproliferation, and the strong interplay between all these forces on a domestic and international level. In addition to overseeing company operations, Mr. Hinze handles many of UxC’s products and consulting projects in such areas as nuclear reactors, conversion, enrichment, fabrication, zirconium, and related topics. He is also a principal involved in UxC’s nuclear fuel price reporting and market data publication activities.

Before coming to UxC, Mr. Hinze worked as Manager, Energy Projects for the International Access Corporation (IAC), a research, consulting, and marketing firm with offices in Washington and Tokyo. At IAC, he was responsible for projects covering a range of nuclear engineering, policy, regulatory, and related issues, and he also shared his time as an external management consultant to a group of U.S. experts working with Japanese nuclear utilities. Mr. Hinze also spent time as an adviser to Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) on a major safety culture improvement project, which included an engagement at the company’s nuclear power plant sites in Japan. Before his tenure at IAC, Mr. Hinze worked directly within the Japanese electric power industry in the Washington office of the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan (FEPC), where he gained a broad, first-hand background in the international nuclear industry.

Mr. Hinze also has prior experience in positions in government, industry and education in various countries, including the U.S., Germany, and Japan. He is fluent in English, German, and Japanese. Mr. Hinze received a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies from Haverford College and a Master of Arts in International Trade and Investment Policy from the George Washington University.
